Meet Our Owner

Andy Nelson established Safer Driver Solutions/Driving for Exceptional Learners in 2014.

Teen and Adult Drivers Supporting Anxiety, Autism, ADHD, and Other Executive Functioning Disorders

Andy is a devoted father of identical twin girls and a son. When not engaged in Driver Education, Andy enjoys going to cruise nights and car shows with several of his hot rods and street machines. He hosts two car shows in SE Iowa as fundraisers for the Pekin Comm Schools. He cherishes quality time at concerts and musicals with his daughters and friends, showcasing his diverse interests. As a proud Iowa Hawkeye fan, Andy's enthusiasm extends beyond the road to the sports arena. With a commitment to inclusivity.

His remarkable background and unwavering dedication have made a profound impact on the landscape of driver's education. His vision emphasizes that everyone, regardless of age or learning challenges, deserves an equal opportunity to learn the essential skill of driving. Andy founded the Driving for Exceptional Learners program in 2014, providing specialized driver education for individuals with disabilities. Andy not only teaches aspiring drivers to become safer drivers but also teaches aspiring driving instructors to become effective professional driving instructors.

Andy's mission and impact on driver's education have become a foundation and driving force providing the community with a strong framework that ensures the presence of safe drivers navigating the roads of Iowa.

Behind-the-Wheel Instructor

Brent Moughler, a dedicated member of our team since 2023, brings a unique blend of experience, compassion, and expertise. Hailing from the vibrant city of Chicago, Brent's journey led him to the University of Kentucky, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, laying the foundation for his diverse and impactful career.

Beyond his professional achievements, Brent takes immense pride in his roles as a loving husband, a devoted dad, and a proud grandpa.
When not behind the wheel providing driving instruction to both teens and adults, he enjoys delving into the pages of history books and listening to all sorts of music during his downtime. He finds solace in the great outdoors, engaging in activities like fishing and hunting.

Brent also extends his passion for mentorship as a trade instructor at Job Corps in Ottumwa. Here, he plays a vital role in shaping the future of young individuals, guiding them toward the starting point of a fulfilling career.

Brent's commitment to learning, teaching, and fostering meaningful connections shines through, making him an invaluable asset to our team and a source of inspiration for those around him.

Mark Musker

Behind-the-Wheel Instructor

Mark Musker is a dedicated advocate in Special Education and Driver's Education. Mark brings an impressive 33 years of experience to the field of Special Education and is a tireless advocate for the empowerment and growth of individuals with diverse learning needs.
Mark holds a Master's degree in Special Education & Administration, reflecting his commitment to advancing his knowledge and expertise in the field. This educational foundation has allowed him to make meaningful contributions to the lives of students with special needs.

With a passion for extending his impact, Mark has dedicated six years to Driver's Education. Armed with an ADED certification, Mark is not only shaping minds in the classroom but also on the road, ensuring that individuals with diverse learning needs have the skills and confidence to navigate the world independently.

Mark's interests extend beyond the academic realm. He is a proud fan of the Chiefs and Cubs. Mark's diverse interests also include the thrill and excitement of pro-Bull Riding. Additionally, he enjoys the tranquility of golf, demonstrating a well-rounded appreciation for various pastimes.

His wealth of experience in understanding diverse learning needs, coupled with specialized training and expertise in special education, uniquely positions Mark to cater to a broad spectrum of students in driver's education.
